Blogging as a living seems like it would be pretty laid back. As long as
you have the audience, there's always going to be advertisers waiting to
pay you. But netting the audience seems to be hard or maybe random
since Kottke didn't really see his popularity coming.
Another thing that is pretty ridiculous is the fact that this man is online all the time. He says 9-5 he is pretty much serving or posting ect... All things that could potentially end up in his blog. Makes me thing how much I am online. Definitely not 9-5 but I constantly am checking up on blogs and my facebook. Aside from that there is not much else I am online for besides being a consumer.
Blogs I read constantly everyday:
I even added goldenfiddle since Kottke mentioned it in the interview as a celebrity gossip blogs for those who aren't into that stuff. Since I'm a whore for celebrity gossip blogs I had to add it to my bookmarks bar.

Hey, dude! Thanks so much for putting Albotas on that list. It really means a lot. It would TOTALLY be fresh to get paid to blog, but it'll probably be a while before Albotas gets to that point, granted, we haven't even been around for a whole year yet. We're getting a little bit of $$ from the advertisers, but not enough to retire. Looks like I'm stuck at the day job.

Yes, blogging for bucks WOULD be cool. But the few professional bloggers I've met or read about seem to be constantly glued to their laptops. Most post several times a day. I'm not sure I'd like that. Good post, though...
